We Built
What We Couldn't Buy

SOURCE was founded to fix a bottleneck its founders kept hitting from inside the industry: space solar procurement. Long lead times, premium pricing, and suppliers unwilling to serve constellation volumes were limiting what programs could build. Space solar can be industrialized the same way terrestrial solar was, through volume production and process discipline. SOURCE exists to take power off the list of program risks.

Founders origin

The Problem Was Visible from Inside the Industry

Co-founder Phil Keller built the satellite solar array business unit at Roccor from the ground up, before its acquisition by Redwire. Co-founder Bryan Mazor delivered the solar arrays for NASA's Crew Dragon and the original Starlink constellation at SpaceX. They saw the same problem from different angles: slow, expensive, single-source supply chains that don't fit the scale and speed new space programs run on. They founded SOURCE to fix it.

Proof, not promises

Terrestrial-Scale Solar Manufacturing, Built for Space

SOURCE works from a different premise than traditional space solar suppliers. Instead of chasing exotic multi-junction arrays built for peak efficiency, we apply the manufacturing discipline, supply-chain depth, and cost economics of terrestrial solar to space. More than a trillion dollars has been invested in the terrestrial solar industry, and we put that engineering and production maturity to work on spacecraft power. The result is arrays that perform reliably to spec, without the premium pricing that has defined space solar. The model is proven by delivery: our first qualified primary power solution shipped 14 months after incorporation

Philip Keller

CEO and Co-Founder

Phil built the satellite solar array business unit at Roccor (Longmont, CO) into a top-performing product line before its acquisition by Redwire. At CTD (Lafayette, CO) he stood up the business unit behind a USMC program of record for 2,500 power systems.

Bryan Mazor

CTO and Co-Founder

At SpaceX, Bryan developed, qualified, and delivered the solar arrays for NASA's human-rated Crew Dragon and led the original Starlink constellation arrays. Both exceeded on-orbit performance requirements.
