SOLUTIONS — DEFENSE & GOVERNMENT |
Supply-chain security. Domestic manufacturing.
High-radiation performance. Supply-chain security. Domestic manufacturing.
Defense and government programs need what most of the market can’t offer: domestic manufacturing, a traceable supply chain, and no rare-earth dependency. SOURCE builds space-qualified silicon solar in Colorado on a US supply chain, priced for cost-constrained programs and shipped on timelines that protect your procurement schedule.

A US-built lineup, SHIPPING SOON!
The industry runs almost entirely on gallium arsenide. The one dependency with documented shortages, few suppliers, and export-control exposure. SOURCE offers two paths off it: silicon modules available now, and CIGS modules for GEO in 2027. Our CIGS modules, built with Idemitsu Kosan (three decades of CIGS research, 6+ GW of terrestrial production), delivers high radiation resistance and self-healing recovery in a lightweight design (MOD-0010). We are actively testing these modules and want to fly them soon.

02
Several Si modules options available now. CIGS modules available 2027.
03
Standard, COTS panel arrays and body mount configurations available in less than 6 months.

The strategic risk
GaAs dependency is a strategic vulnerability.
The space solar industry runs almost entirely on gallium arsenide (GaAs). That single dependency has become a liability: documented global shortages, a small pool of suppliers, and exposure to export-control restrictions. For defense programs, single-source reliance is a risk you can't design around.
Source Energy Company offers two paths off that dependency. Our silicon modules are available now, giving programs a proven, supply-secure alternative to GaAs today. For missions heading to GEO, our CIGS modules arrive in 2027.
The CIGS line comes from our collaboration with Idemitsu Kosan, which brings three decades of Copper Indium Gallium Selenide research and more than 6 GW of terrestrial production. The MOD-010 module delivers high radiation resistance in a lightweight design, and its self-healing properties recover radiation-induced damage over time to extend operational life. SOURCE breaks the GaAs dependency entirely.

Roadmap — 2027
CIGS cells for MEO and GEO
Above roughly 1,000 km, silicon degrades faster than long missions can tolerate, so these orbits need a self-healing cell technology like CIGS. The MOD-010 gives MEO, GEO, and high-radiation programs that capability and extends SOURCE's addressable market beyond LEO. Module design is complete, and qualification and testing are underway at our Colorado facility, with availability planned for 2027
